Ken Gaffney

I love the radio. It’s so accessible and immediate. Since I was a small boy I have listened to the radio. Stan Roffe, Ken Sparks and blokes like Allan Lappin were heroes to me. We listened to KZ DB AK and UZ. I had a small transistor radio under my pillow at night and listened to the latest bands like Zoot, Billy Thorpe and The Aztecs, Daddy Cool, Skyhooks and many other great Australian bands. I heard new artists like Johnny Farnham, Normie Rowe and The Seekers on that little radio. In 1963 I heard the Beatles for the first time and that changed our lives for ever. I love the music from the sixties and seventies and I love playing these songs on community radio. I joined ONE FM in 2014. And being an on-air presenter is a privileged place that I do not take for granted but I just love it!
