One FM breakfast announcer Terri Cowley talks to author Danielle Scrimshaw ahead of her talk about her book ‘She and Her Pretty Friend’ at the Shepparton Library.

Ms. Matthews will be at the Shepparton Library (41-43 Marungi St, Shepparton) on Thursday the 16th of November from 7:30pm – 8:30pm.

Meet Danielle Schrimshaw, author of She and Her Pretty Friend as she shares insights into researching and writing about the hidden history of Australian women who love women.

Throughout history, women’s relationships have been downgraded and diminished. Instead of lovers, they are documented as particularly close friends; the type that made out, worked, lived, and are buried together. Besties, if you will. She and Her Pretty Friend aims to dispel this myth. It is an exploration of women’s relationships through Australian history, each chapter centring on a specific person, couple, or time period.
